Encourage Wildlife to Live Wild
Little javelinas are charming, bobcat kittens cute, and
coyote handsome symbols of the west. But they are all
wildlife. Feeding them makes them more likely to approach
humans, a behavior that may lead to their demise. So,
please, do the critters a favor and let them live wild. In
Pima County it is illegal to feed any wildlife other than
birds and tree squirrels. And we don't really have any tree
squirrels--ours are all rock squirrels.

Anyone Know a Snake Doctor?
Our beloved, ceramic snake at Esperanza (Snake/Flag) Park
has suffered a serious open head wound. We're hoping her
creator, Kathy Sawin, will have a fix for this. If not, an
experienced ceramic repairman would be welcome.

Flu Prevention-It's Time to Think About It
Seems like summer has just begun, but already flu prevention
is on the calendar.
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC)
recommend you receive your injection by October 1.
Sorry, no nasal spray this year.
Medicare pays for flu shots at most pharmacies. Make an
appointment on-line, or just take your card in and ask.
Ed Brousseau tells us that through March
31, 2017, all veterans enrolled in the VA health
care system can receive free flu shots at any Walgreens.
Take your VA identification card and another photo ID,
complete a four-question application used to update your VA
Electronic Health Records and you'll receive your injection.
